Nate Barksdale is a freelance writer, editor, & designer based in Portland, Oregon. He is co-creator and -curator of the blog Culture-Making.com. He currently writes for Comment. His essays have been featured on sites like The Morning News, The Browser, Languagehat, and the New York Times Idea of the Day blog.

His current design work ranges from logos and business cards to quarterly reports for clients in finance and publishing.

Previously, he was a graphic designer at the internet consultancy zefer, and editor of the magazine re:generation quarterly. He did his undergraduate work in the History of Science at Harvard, where he wrote for The Crimson, and edited two editions of the Let’s Go travel guide to India and Nepal.

He generally avoids writing about himself in the third person.
